WEDDINGS

Dry Doddington

Dry Doddington is the perfect venue for your wedding. The splendid village views over the nearby villages make it a great wedding destination.

The position of St. James Church and Dry Doddington village hall means that you have everything you need within a short distance.

There are plenty of opportunities for some fantastic photo opportunities that you can remember forever.

Dry Doddington has an interesting history with connections to medieval times, and more recent associations with World War II.

Wedding venue

St. James Church

The village of Dry Doddington was mentioned in the 1086 Doomsday Book where the name is given as Dodintune. The church itself is dedicated to St. James, the patron saint of pilgrims and can be dated back to the 12th Century.

St. James Church is the oldest building in the village and was Grade II listed in 1966 - with the arched doorway being the oldest part of the church. Further history of St. James Church can be found on the Claypole Benefice website - and also on the Westborough & Dry Doddington Parish Council website.

It is an impressive building all round, of which the tower boasts a staggering tilt of 5.1 degrees, leaning more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, which is now tilted at 3.97 degrees. It has even been covered in the Daily Mail!

This is a perfect venue for your wedding, steeped in history and set on the beautiful village green.

The Ice & Tipsy Bar has been beautifully handmade. Our solid wood bars have been finished in Lamp Room Grey, which offsets charred pine bar tops. The handmade lighting structure displays eight vintage Edison lightbulbs, these can be set to suit the mood of the evening. With its modern rustic feel the Ice & Tipsy bar sits attractively in any environment.

Ice & Tipsy Bar consists of three bars, a back bar and two separate front bars, these can be arranged in different ways to suit the size of your venue, reception or event. We are able to serve real ales via traditional hand pulls and two ice cold draught products of your choice such as a premium lagers or popular cider.

The back bar displays a range of popular & handcrafted gins and named spirits. Three refrigerated units keep wines, prosecco bottled beers, ciders and soft drinks perfectly chilled
